Did Connor's final comment to Collette refer to their mother, or Clive Owen?

That ending just seemed to make no sense to me. Maybe my brain cells are having a slow day. Who exactly killed Mac (Clive Owen) and for what reason?

Collette had Mac (Owen) killed because he got her mother murdered for being an informant.
