What gave me a Red Flag early in the film (potential spoiler)

Was when the dad arrived and said he went on her Facebook. I don't think he logged into her account to see any private messages. He sad he checked his email and then went on her FB to view her page and saw an ex boyfriend posted on her wall. That right there made me think he was obsessive and creepy but she made it sound like nothing.

The big red flag I noticed early on was when Sarah mentioned there was no cell phone coverage in the area. Remote house + no cell phone coverage = mayhem.

He killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator.

I think that's something every movie has to do. They need to come up with a way to explain why they can't call for help. Battery dies, no reception, lost or stolen phone or of there is a budget for it, set the film pre 1990s.

There is a YouTube video that shows how every movie can be finished in 10 minutes if they had cell phones.

Got a link?

"Gar nicht so übel, du kleine Schlampe. Man sieht sich immer zweimal, Kleine."

Th truth is, even if you have a cell phone, you have no guarantee whether you will get reception or not----especially if you're way out in an isolated area---that's how it is in real life,so that not just a well-worn plot device.

Not to mention the fact that even if you do call out, the cops don't even have to respond to your call. Look it up, there's been several court rulings on this. They have no obligation to provide protection to individuals whatsoever.

Leaving your safety in the hands of cops is stupid.

For me a red flag was when the girl and her uncle were alone and he said something like "I can't believe how you've grown" or something like that and she looked really uncomfortable.

I don't know if that was a red flag, but it was creepy. But, later, from what he says, the father did most of the abuse, and if that's true, that's way beyond creepy.

reply

Exactly. He was looking at her for wayyyy too long!

reply

Well, that and the fact that the dad gave off a heavy molester vibe immediately. Everybody had at least one teacher in high school that acted like that dude.

The polaroids the dad hid in the bedroom started alarm bells for me, and the creepy uncle that wanted to bang her from the start

The thing is, you could find a hint of many types of endings. They have to do some ending.

I got the same vibe, very creepy.
