"Alone With Her"

Of course, this one seems more cinematic.

I thought the exact same thing. "Alone With Her" was great, we'll see how this one compares.

The first 30 seconds of this trailer reminded me of a sub-level Hollywood remake of Michael Haneke's masterpiece "Hidden", but then the rest of the trailer made me think of every other dumb Hollywood thriller starring veneer characters, a distinct lack of threat, and zero tension (White Noise, for example). I'll be giving this one a massive miss.

What a lovely reason to post about how you're going to ignore this movie.

I actually thought the exact same thing as I watched the trailer.

"Oh great, they remade Cache."
Followed by:
"Nevermind, this something even more awful."

That being said I'll probably see it when it finally makes it to Netflix.

I was actually surprised, it was pretty good. After reading all the negative comments, I prepared for a movie that would put me to sleep. When the movie was finished, I sat there wondering what drug everyone was taking that made them hate on this movie so much.... then I realized - most of the people commenting were basing their opinion solely on a 90-second trailer.

Don't believe the hype... it's actually a pretty good movie.

Nick Stahl and a Gavin Smith both worked on this film and are both missing...unless it's a different Gavin Smith.

I haven't seen "Alone With Her", but I watched the trailer and it does look rather similar to this. Hopefully it wasn't as bad as this though, because this movie sucked.

reply

It's practically the same movie as ATM. Different characters, but the plot is basically the same, and the ending is identical.

I've never seen "alone with her", but I really found this film interesting to see through the eyes of a stalker.

reply

I'd say this film is like Paranormal Activity from the point of view of the demon.

reply

Alone With Her had a very similar concept (filmed from the point of view of hidden cameras). But the motivations of the stalkers were entirely different in the two movies. In one movie, the stalker was a psychopath playing mind games with his victims, in the other the stalker was a shy guy trying to get a girl to like him. You decide, which one is more interesting.

I LOVED this movie. As another poster said; there's so many people that didn't like it on IMDb that I wasn't sure. I streamed it on NetFlix for lack of anything better to do..(you can always shut off a bad film)..but this was great! The first five minutes made me think that it would suck because of having to (supposedly) look through someone else's camera lens..but only 5 minutes in I was hooked. Even though it was contrived (a camera on his work pc?)..I was addicted to the tension. And the ending was an horrific additive.

I gave it 7 stars.
