Scream 6 Movie Review: A PERFECT SCREAM SEQUEL

This movie is awesome, and it’s a perfect sequel for the Scream franchise. Everything is on point here. Amazing acting, great directing skills by Matt and Tyler, and incredible special effects that are very realistic and are not only scary and suspenseful to watch, but also are brutal and very graphic with a great amount of blood and gore that is just right, no to much and not to little. Jenna Ortega, Melissa Bererra, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Hayden Pannittere are awesome in this film, along with Courtney Cox as well. Scream 6 expands the development of the brand new characters that we were introduced to in the last Scream film (Scream 5) . Both Scream 5 and Scream 6 respect the other 4 Scream movies that Wes Craven made. I am very glad that the Scream fans have screenwriters and directors who will actually listen to them, and give the fans the horror movie that they want to watch. There’s a lot of great twists and turns in this movie and I love everything about it and I really like how Scream 6 came together. I wish I could’ve attended the test screening for this one. I highly recommend Scream 6 for all Scream fans and horror fans alike. As much as the filmmakers and the cast enjoyed making this movie, I had just as much fun watching it, learning about it and reviewing it, along with discussing it with other horror buffs/fans and scream fans. I’m a huge movie buff, horror buff and Scream fan.

You have issues. Rewatch this movie and realize everything wrong with it because there's a lot there to go by. Constant story errors, character motives that make no sense, settings that are underutilized, red herrings that make no sense, attempts to be fresh and different quickly tossed aside, etc. the list goes on and on. This movie sucked, barely better than that horrible last movie and tied with the wretched Scream 4. This series needs to end.

Someone has issues alright — and that’s the petty angry non-Scream VI fan who responded to the OP first. ☺️ Then again, said hater represents a many on here.

Now serious or not (bait posts for the detractors are a thing, of course), I agree with all the positive takes. This is easily one of the better Scream offerings, a total home run for Radio Silence. Though it didn’t completely blow away the last film and take full advantage of its New York setting like I was anticipating (and I loved 5), best since the original I dare say? Tee hee. An overall well-crafted and wildly entertaining film with maybe the best kills. (That vicious opening = amazing.) No, it sucked some say? Kewl yo. But anyway, Killer sequel.

Oh sure, say I have issues when you fail to see all the faults with this movie. IT FAILED. Deal with it. The opening was not even that great because we got no investment with the teacher before she gets killed nor the dude that killed her which would have made the movie better had we been following him for a bit. Another family revenge story, yawn. Why did all three of them have to be killers. Ethan should have been innocent because the movie goes about its way to tell us he is guilty and ends up being so after all. YAWN. The whole red herring made no sense because why is Quinn on the phone with her dad asking him to find out who is behind the murders when no one is around to trick with this, but Ethan dressed as Ghostface ready to give us her fake out death? If Quinn wasn't in on the whole thing, that scene makes more sense. Once again they give away so unsubtly who the killers are like they did last time which sucks if you're sticking with a whodunnit format. A college setting with no actual college aspects? Lame. Why not just have them be on vacation during the summer or something? Why even have this set during Halloween with nothing of it utilized here. The NYC setting seemed underwhelming too besides the store and subway scene. the whole franchise concept here is ridiculous because how many times has this happened now? Why is Mindy stating we are NOW in a franchise like that hasn't been going on since the third movie? Rather late there. And I'm so sick of them constantly telling us how no one is safe and all bets are off yet the characters we expect to survive end up surviving. Another disappointment of this movie is Christina Carpenter once again not used at all which sucks because she had this relationship with Billy Loomis and had a child by him yet remains to be an offscreen character yet again. Kirby coming back when Scream 4 made is clear she died given she bled out for the longest time and the rest of the movie does not even address that she lived, even Jill stated she died and no one corrects her, a shame. The timeline is even messed up because Scream 5 was set in 2021, 25 years after the first, and here they went by the year of release, meaning this movie is set in October 2023. It really should have been October 2022. How are the characters in NYC for SIX MONTHS when it's only the start of the school year and they are freshmen? That means they moved to NYC during the end of their senior year....which makes zero sense. Yeah, Radio Silence failed this movie as they did with Scream 5 not thinking things through well enough.

Look whose silent now. Thats right, stay quiet. Scream 5 and 6 are trash movies and you're trash for liking them.
