Call me crazy, but I thought there was something of "Heavenly Creatures" about this, probably because of unhealthy relationship between the girls leading to something sinister and skull crushing, but what capped it for me was that the actress playing Do really reminded me of a young Melanie Lynskey.

The story didn't remind me of it at all but there was a shot where Roach reminded me of Lynskey.
