Noticed weird error...Just saw the pilot

while babysitting my neighbor's grandkids. In the teaser, the nerdy kid says something about seeing the Ice Capades. That would be difficult since the Ice Capades stopped touring in '89 and went bankrupt in '95. Since the fella playing the character wasn't even born until '97, (and I'm guessing his character isn't much older than he is), this horrible error was just stuck in for the few parents stuck watching this that actually REMEMBER the Ice Capades. Poor writing given how many amazing former sitcom writers are writing on the show.

Hope the references got better as the series progressed.

Some people still refer to any ice skating show as the Ice Capades. It's become a generic term. Sort of how Jell-o is often used for any gelatin.

Good point Iroc24: best not to overthink some things. This is a DCOM for kids, not "Doctor Who". Wait a minute, what if the Daleks invaded the dojo, and it was up to the Bobby Wasabi warriors to....no, just kidding.

I agree, but errors have me thinking "Wtf" I am no karate expert or even beginner, but I know you don't win belts in tournaments, Unless its some kinda champion's belt like in pro wrestling or boxing. Not colored rank belts.
