I came here to ask the same thing, although I didnt know what movie that was. Did you watch it on Netflix? All I can think is that it was an error of some kind.

reply

I wondered the same thing. It happened a few times. Made absolutely no sense.

Bam said the lady.

I was wondering that too. I think it's a glitch on the part of Netflix. I watched it on Netflix and although it's a bizarre mistake thats the only logical explanation I can think of.

Just watched on Netflix and there are four quick cuts of the film near the end. It is bizarre.

Sounds like netflix is streaming a pirated copy!

I was completely dumbfounded with the few aberrant Hawaiian scenes. I thought that Marie's mother might have had a career as an actress or maybe genealogical ties to Hawaiian royalty. IN THE DARK HALF was odd enough without the addition of random scenes from an unrelated film.

I streamed the film from Netflix, and someone mentioned that Netflix might be using a pirated copy, and I wonder how that would work. In fact, I wonder about the whole streaming operation. Sometimes films that haven't even been released on disc are available for streaming, and some old films that have been streamable, are dropped and become 'disc only', and some films are never streamed. Who makes the decision, and based on what criteria?

It really seemed intentionally edited in...but I couldn't make sense of it either. Unless Marie was just trying to escape into the plot of a randomly-chosen movie she had seen.

Must be a Netflix error. I watched it last night on the BBC and there were no such scenes.
