Here's the thing. By adding the stupid voice overs they have alienated the original audience. Kids would have enjoyed it like they always had if it were narrated in the same way as the original show and stage play, but they chose to make it undesirable for their original fans.
I agree, and this is the main thing that bothers me as well. If it was only a regular dinosaur movie, I wouldn't have minded it. Okay, the annoying voices and unnecessary jokes would probably still have turned me off, but point is, from day one since the movie's announcement, I kept tabs on its progress because of its title and affiliation with the original series.
Granted, I still haven't seen the movie, but all of what I read and seen of it so far makes it clear that it's lacking one of
the most important aspects that made me interested in it in the first place.
It's a shame that all of the other dinosaur productions that I've been looking forward to in the last few years turned out to be similar (though smaller) disappointments.
Dinosaur Revolution AKA
Reign of Dinosaurs, BBC's very own
Planet Dinosaur which was another attempted successor of the original
WWD, even
March of the Dinosaurs was disappointing to a degree. But by far this movie takes the cake.
