A great concept and an amazing piece of work!
Amazing that this was done by just one guy! I mean, the cinematography alone...
Absolutely fantastic! The fantastic atmosphere and all these little details:
- The camera that moves over a wall with the film title with the suggested slowmo effect
- the addresses of the dancers displayed besides their boy when they dance
- the mobile that rings in the car,
- the scene blending and the daylight and nighttime blending
- the dark shadow that moves against the backdrop of the lighted city
- the heroic band of trashmen standing infront of the headlights of their trucks
I could go on and on. I was really able to picture how this would look like if it were a life action movie. And come on, what a great concept! Vigialantes who are literally taking out the trash? Pure Genious!
Especially the camera work and the choice of music used, create an atmosphere that holds its own with actual live action movies!
I must say, Weschler is an amazing director! What he created within the limitations of a sandbox game world is absoulutely astonishing! If he got funding I could actually see this movie come to life as a live action version.
I remember a short cgi movie called "9" that impressed one Tim Burton so much that he gave the creator all the funding he needed to create a feature length movie. I can see the same thing happening for this movie.
The gameplay movie could serve as a sort of elaborate animated storyboard for the actual movie.
Give this guy some real money and let's see what he does with that!
