I'm pretty close to being a college professor and the OP is overstating it a little (maybe if you're tenured?). But obviously this does happen.
The question is should they make a movie about it? It depends. If their only goal is to turn people on, maybe not. But then male porn star Ron Jeremy was a lot more disgusting than this guy and he did plenty of much more graphic sex scenes. And it's not like they don't ever put anything "gross" in movies. Regardless, there's no reason you can't make a SERIOUS movie about this subject, even if you were to reverse the genders.
The sex and nudity mostly involves the young woman anyway. There is a lot more older male nudity in "Sleeping Beauty" (which is a better movie), but let me just say when I see full-frontal nudity involving an actress who looks Maria Valverde or Emily Browning (in "Sleeping Beauty"), I REALLY DON'T CARE what guy she's with. I could see women and gays being a little "grossed out" here, but I think some of the guys unfairly bashing this may have some other issues. We're all going to get old someday. There are "grosser" things in the world than aging.
