'Great soundtrack'

I keep hearing the words "Great soundtrack" being thrown around at this movie.

If by means "Great soundtrack", I'm thinking more in the realms of The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson possibly a tad of The Beach Boys?

If it's all the rapping and jamming or whatever it's refered to, then this is not by all means "Great soundtrack".

Music is very subjective, I think of rap as just clamour.

And is the soundtrack partially made up of Plan B's music? Because if so, that's rather self-absorbent.

Would the film be better if it had The Beatles, Johnny Cash or Willie Nelson on the soundtrack. Of course not. The music used is what the people in the film probably listen to and its target audience as well. In that respect the soundtrack was very good. You obviously don't like rap, but what did you expect from a film like this, California Girls or Hey Jude? If you had paid attention Plan B's tracks actually comment on the story line. And why shouldn't he use some of his music it's his project and he wrote and directed as well. It's no point putting this kind of thing on the board it will only get a negative response. The fact that nobody replied till now speaks volumes.

I'm not a rap fan but the soundtrack album is absolutely stunning. Each song tells the back story of the characters in the film. The music is vital and superb, 60s and 70s rock classics wouldn't have worked. Watch the film and you'll understand how silly your question is.
