in all honesty....

The re-boot was really not that bad. The acting was adequate and the story lines were edgier. Fior example, in the last episode to air we find out that Charlie has a very close connection to Bosley via "Elizabeth"---Charlie's daughter "loved Bosley very much!" Who saw that coming? It seemed as though they were really trying to show more back story than the original, actually, in my humble opinion. And were trying to stay true to our current acceptance and awareness of our multi-ethnic/sexual and multiple technologic society. I can't believe other non-network shows are garnering higher ratings, i.e. "Burn Notice", "Covert Affairs", etc. Should this reboot been done on another network, where it could have found its footing? Where we could have grown into the characters as they grow? Look at Conan and how he is doing well on TBS. NBC, and its viewers, were not giving him a chance because they are older and sadly more stale at that hour. But his contract got renewed on TBS as sadly George Lopez who made the way for Conan did not. I just think the show could have developed more of a following if it had been on one of the other cable networks than a high profile network. Think of the storylines they could have pushed like "Breaking Bad", Weed's", "Hung", etc. because they were not on a networks whose only concern was the RATINGS?

Opinions, anyone? And those include any hollywood producers directors, et al.

I think they should have done a reboot on another network, frankly! So many new and edgy show that apparently people watch. Perhaps, people should write out to the producers and whoever was involved in this reboot and see if it can be bought by another cable network where ratings dont seem to matter as much. And where creativity reigns.
