Selina this season (Season 6)

Is it just me, or is Selina an even bigger bitch this year?

I really enjoyed her bitchiness in previous seasons, but this year, for some reason, she's starting to grate on my nerves.

Overall something feels a bit off this season.

Ah, that explains it! Why did Iannucci leave?

I agree, the characters have become just even more reprehensible. And now that Selina isn't President, maybe it lost some focus as well. And I really don't care much about Catherine's storyline.

But I enjoyed the return of Minna Häkkinen (Sally Phillips). She's always a joy for me to watch.

Ha, Northern Europe at least ;)

Selina Meyer is not a nice person anyway. She is a terrible mother to Catherine, she is self obsessed and egotistical. Her ambition far exceeds her talent. She treats Gary like a slave, even though he willingly assents to this.If you add to that the fact that she lost the Presidency by a slim margin, it must really annoy her, hence the bitterness.

agree - i hope the dial it back a bit for the final season - and i hope the keep the cast in the same room for the most part as well.

The writing in Season 6 was off, Mina. The show’s creator had left to do Succession, a show you could not pay me enough to watch, and Veep floundered. Salina and the show came back to form in the Final Season. She was still a solipsistic bitch—in other words, a politician—but the improved humor leavened her crassness.
