Comedies should not be 134 mins long
It's a shame there's a good 100 minutes of movie here but 134 minutes! Very few comedies are that good for that length of time.

Apatow has some serious issue with duration and pace. "Funny People" was a torture to watch. It felt longer than "Ben-Hur" and "Schindler's Lists" combined.
On the other hand, directors like Barry Sonnenfeld make all of their movies less that 95 minutes (excluding the end titles).

I made the mistake of watching this movie last night on a regular commercial TV channel. The runtime on that TV broadcast with commercial breaks was TWO HOURS AND FORTY FIVE MINUTES!!!!
I had failed to check - I mean, you don't, do you? You just assume, especially with comedies, that even with commercial breaks this will only take about 90 minutes to watch.
Do not catch this film on ordinary commercial TV, folks, it's worse than sitting through Ben Hur.
The runtime of the actual movie itself is even still too damn long.
Well the full title of the movie is actually "This is 40 (minutes too long)"
