Jude Law could fit the part. Owen or Farrell would have to lose some muscle weight, 'cause I think in these latter parts of the Hole-series he's kind of skinny from his depression and alcoholism.

In recent pictures where he's got the shaven head and is in those t-shirts which are far too big for him, he's got the kind of body shape I imagine Harry having. His lean physique also gives off the impression that he's a lot taller than he actually is. He looks older than he actually is, which is often mentioned in the books as well.

I'd actually like Gerard Butler if he works on his accent, shave the hair to short 5-6 mm then dye it darkly blonde. His eyes are bleached blue already and he has that somewhat tired look.

And he's only 2 centimeters shorter then Harry so the height isn't really a problem.

Or i would say, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. He's awesome in the first movie by Nesbo (not harry but still) Headhunters. He's also tall (189), blonde and bleached blue eyes. + He's danish so he doesn't have to act like he's from the north like the most suggestions have to do.

I mean the girl with the dragon tattoo has more swedish actors then britsh/americans and that's somewhat the charm, isn't it obvious that Nesbo's novels should follow the same pattern. It works and isn't that strained.

An american actor or britsh or what ever can never truly play norweigan cause even in the books it's quite obvious how we speak up here. My swedish roots has never gone unoticed for long when i've been abroad.

You're all thinking way too polished. A slim Stellan Skarsgård would be pretty great. Hole isn't a very handsome or pretty man; more handsome in a rough and worn way. He is tall, slender and thin-haired. Very much nordic in his appearance with blondish hair. Trond Espen Seim would be good for a Norwegian movie
