Re-affirms my suspicions

The accident happened. We know that. Diana and Dodi were in the car, we know that. But my belief is that she is still alive and living somewhere under an assumed identity. She, and the Royals, capitalized on the event to get her out of the public eye. How better to pull off a staged death than by having dozens of paparazzi snapping away.

She wins by finally living a quiet life. The Royals win by getting her presence away from their family. Her cause wins because this got the Ottawa Treaty banning landmines
pushed through. Papparazzi are now
villified. Charles is remarried and soon to be King. She has a great start to a brand new life.

Do you honest-to-goodness believe that? I mean, have there been other high-profile public figures/celebs to successfully fake a death for so many years without being found out?

The idea never even crossed my mind. But, now that you mention it, I guess it is possible. But, surely she would have been found out or outed by now.
