I liked it but here's something I didn't understand

There were two things I didn't understand
1. How could Tom not see the actual memories of Anthony? I mean, the machine he invented could access a person's memories. But everybody knows that memories are stored in the subconscious in their real form. For example I may think that the walls of my room were green when I was a child, because for some way that's how I remember it...even if they were blue...but my subconscious stored the correct information, so anybody who attempts to access my subconscious will see the actual memory. But Tom was only able to see what Anthony thought he remembered, not the actual memory... wasn't he connected to Anthony's subconscious?

2. How could Tom see Anthony's present memories, I mean they weren't connected in any way, I know that Tom was able to see Anthony's old memories because of the microchip, but how could he see his present actions?

1. Well tying real life and this universe cause some discrepancies, but memories can be unreliable which is why eye-witness statements vary in police investigations. In the movie though, the brainwashing aspect was explained as to how memories can be altered, and also there are blanks which is why he had to use the memory triggers. Basically memory is faulty, human memory is much worse than a CPU hard drive although those can also be corrupted.

2. The chip was never destroyed so he could see the new short term memories being made seconds after they happened, but couldn't interact in them.
