The music ruined it

I love these sorts of films. Paranormal Activity, Blair Witch, Man Bites Dog, I've seen them all.

The thing I like most about them is that realistic style. But how can you take it seriously when they add a soundtrack to it? There wasn't any music in the likes of Blair Witch, Chronicle etc. Unless they're driving along in a car with a CD on or something. But when something creepy starts happening, they don't have any music playing.

It just wrecks the atmosphere. All I wanna hear is the screams, the "dude wtf, what was that" etc. This movie was f^&^%&in awesome. I loved it, scared the hell out of me. But when they started playing that spooky music, it just completely ruined it for me. It's awesome when it's just total silence and then a door slams or something and you nearly jump out of your seat. But when they have that music playing it totally f&*^*n ruins it. If you were out running in the woods being chased by a monster and filming it all, when you play it back would there be music? F^%&k no! The whole bloody point of these films is that they're a "mockumentary" or "found-footage" genre. That's what makes them different.

I know 99/100 who watch this film won't even give a s$^%t about the soundtrack. But for me, it spoiled my experience. The Wicksboro Incident was another. Or The Ghosts of Crowley Hall. Potentially awesome, creepy mockumentaries ruined by a soundtrack. I even went so far as to google "can you remove music from a movie". Apparently you can't unless you're an advanced sound engineer or something. Well there goes that idea. Maybe in the near future advanced sound editing tools will allow you to do it. Well that's the extent of how much music in a film of this nature bugs me. I know similar stuff bugs other people, like when they hear English music in a foreign language film. Personally, that doesn't bother me at all.

Okay so that's the biggest post I've ever made on this site. Who's gonna read it? Who's gonna give a s%^&t? Nobody.
