That's one of the few things I'll remember from this movie, along with the bogus names for equipment that dragged me into hilarity...oh, let's not forget that schizophrenia causes you to rise up from the bed doing your best Linda Blair impersonation. I walked away with one, and only one question. Did the Dad rape the girl?

Yeah, the "keep filming" trope is common in these movies. The doctor was a typical non believer trope character, the end of the film makes it clear that the disturbances were supernatural.

IIRC, there's no proof the dad abused the daughter, the only scene that hints towards that is when the mum lifts the daughters night gown.
