Geez grampa!

I felt so sorry for this dad. Not only the hatred of the daughter, but his father had such a nasty attitude when he asked him to take the little boy for one night. This guy had no familial support whatsoever. Thank goodness for the innocent love of the little boy.

I agree. What the heck was up with that grandfather anyway? I know this film was supposed to make the father out to be the bad guy, but wow!
That daughter was so nasty I was almost rooting for the 'bad guy' to grab her!

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

reply

Yeah grandpa seemed like an a$$hole, lol.

I thought the professor became oddly controlling and abusive, too.

I disagree, I think the Dr was just trying to keep everyone safe.
every time he would yell at the dad to stay put, and the dad didn't
listen, something went wrong. the guy knew what he was doing.

Are you sure it was the dad's father? I thought I heard Alan call him by his first name. It was probably his father-in-law, Cynthia's father, who might be hostile to the son-in-law he might blame for his daughter's death.

reply

That's what I got from that conversation also, mainly because he called him by his first name yeah.

I also thought that he was hostile because of the death of his daughter.

Agree...father-in-law, blames husband.

But, I also feel the 'psychologist' was just using the 'weird' occurrances to 'build up' parapsychology.

If he believed the daughter to be schizophrenic, he had a legal obligation to immediately get her help.
