I didn't really get it. V was attacking Hall but then it went on to him selling the book ?
Why was V even at the sheriff place ?
I found it confusing but I liked the quirkiness of the film.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
All the 'dream' sequences, everything weird, was his book he was writing, based vaguely upon theories about the murder. We see him writing and rewriting the first sentence of his book, just like we 'see' V attacked/die in various ways. It's his brain rewriting to get it perfect. He's also, I think, integrating some of his 'real life' experiences in the town into the story.
The ouija board scene did happen though. I'm pretty sure.
Worst movie ever? You clearly have never watched Hollywood Homicide.
I guess it started out as a detective story on a murder case. But as he rewrites, the sheriff character becomes a frustration to the core story than a character to to pivot on. So in the end, it was all about the beautiful girl, making the detectives existence in his novel irrelevant, you know, essentially killing them off from the core story.
