JAMES FRANCO'S THOUGHTS ON HART CRANE - YOUTUBE VIDOES/ARTICLE

I thought James Franco undertook a magnificent task regarding this movie. In my opinion, extremely unique and very respectful take on Hart Crane concerning his limited budget to do so.

I love the idea that James is trying to bring poetry to the wider audience, even though, it's a struggle at times with all these mindless blockbusters (which I also enjoy on some occasions) etc and some audiences are just not willing to be open-minded to seek something different.

So in light of this, here are some youtube videos that hopefully, might prove helpful to the open-minded audiences, who wish to understand his reasons at least for trying.

Furthermore, I really think in years to come, wider audiences will appreciate this movie more. So, note the below article from Huffington Post, which I also found interesting.

Thanks for sharing this! I agree with you about the movie. I really enjoyed it, including James Franco's readings, people seem to have been extremely harsh about both. It seems like a labor of love. I liked the humor and quirkiness and intensity... and "Bolero"!

Worst movie ever. Enough said.

No actually that isn't "enough" ..you have to explain why or you aren't taken seriously.

Hart Crane never sported a mustache. Maybe for about a month in 1926, but that's it. All joking aside, this film is garbage. Historical inaccuracy, bad acting, TERRIBLE jittery documentary-like cinematography, explicit oral sex performed on a fake appendage which even Crane himself would have deemed to be in unbelievably poor taste, not to mention DEMEANING... Need I explain myself more? There's never been enough films about the poet, and when somebody finally decides to make one so he can be taken seriously as an artist, he churns out this flaccid, boring, HORRENDOUS piece of worthless refuse. A waste of good black and white film. Blecch. I don't even want to get a lobotomy for fear that I might forget I've seen this film and become interested in watching it all over again. I sadly regret that 90 minutes of my life were spent watching this, and I could have spent that time reading Crane's tortured, intricate, and labyrinthine poetry. If Crane had seen this film, regardless of whether he knew it was about his last days or not, he would have jumped off of an ocean liner. 1 out of 10. And I'm being nice.

Clearly it wasn't meant to be a biography, nor a documentary. All your critiques are personal responses, interesting as a sharing from one person to others but ultimately irrelevant. It is 100% in accord with the spirit of Crane's writing, which is exactly what Franco set out to do.
