Damages for $200,000?

Isn't it a bit ridiculous?

What's ridiculous is the ruling altogether. The counter-suit was against the clinic because since news of Starbuck went out he has been slandered and debased in the public and the media. It was a libel/slander suit. But if the main class action suit says that he can keep his anonymity than how was he slandered? In an American court you have to prove that the libel or slander against you actually caused some harm. Not sure about the laws in other countries, but it stands to reason.

Further, I can't see how a class action suit against a clinic and a counter libel/slander suit against the clinic for said class action could be run at the same time. Sounds to me like it should have been two separate cases and hearings. Further, the lawyers wouldn't be able to even work together if they had filed a counter-suit. It makes no sense. Again, I profess ignorance when it comes to other countries courts, I'm referring to how I know it to be done in America, and I'm not a lawyer so I could be wrong even still. I'm just going by what makes sense to me.

However, I loved the movie and it touched my heart so i gave it a great rating.
