Where they went wrong . . .

In my opinion, Skins US was a great show. I'm currently in the middle of watching the UK version on Nexflix and while I am liking the UK version of the show I still think the US version was great as well. I feel like the only thing that was really wrong about the show is what I love about the US version of Shameless which is that they put it on Showtime. I feel like the US version of Skins had the potential to go farther than it did and would have been far more successful had it been aired on Showtime, Starz or HBO as opposed to put on MTV. I feel like the US version of the show wasn't really able to go there the way that the UK version was because MTV just isn't that kind of network. Having the show showed on MTV meant that they more or less had to water down the show because things like the word *beep* get bleeped and showing things like boobs are a no go. I personally feel like Skins US had the potential to be like another Shameless US and it really sucks that so many people bash on the show because while the ten episode single season show that we got cannot really compare to the seven great seasons that those in the UK were blessed with it it doesn't mean that the show was a *beep* show.
