Conductor lip-synching?

This is a strange question, but since the conductor is the same in both this version and the TAC, did David Charles Abell lip synch to the songs here too? I'm fairly sure you can see him doing so in the TAC and I could have sworn I read years ago that he said he did so to keep in time with the music and a member of the orchestra joked that he made a pretty good Fantine.

I think I can see him doing so during "One Day More" (not the original cast reprise), but I've only seen this once in its entirety and the I can't quite tell from the YouTube clips.

Odd question I know, but the Fantine joke always makes me smile.
