Has anyone named their child after, or met someone

who has a Les Miserables name... or is it just me? I had my daughter when I was 20 and was in the middle of a 10 year affair with Les Mis that began when I was 15 and is still going strong. So I named my daughter after a Les Mis character. I'm weird so its prolly just me! Javert. Kidding!

What is your daughter's name?

If I marry a French person, I might name my daughter Eponine. I've never connected to a character as I have connected to her. She is truly, simply, amazing.

I go to college with a Marius. I met him before I was introduced to the musical (I'm a late bloomer), so I don't really associate him with the character.

well, her first name is Venna Eponine.

Not yet, but I'd definitely consider using Eponine, Fantine, or Cosette for a middle name. Valjean is one of my favorite characters of all time, but I've never liked the name Jean.. not even for a female. If anything, I would use Hugo after the man who created him.

When I was in high school, we had a foreign exchange student named Marius. I don't know if he was named for the character or not though, considering he was from Switzerland. :P

I miss you more than I did a minute ago. RIP Kevin <3 [7/26/94-1/27/11]

Eponine or Cossette are probably the only 2 female names from Les Miz I would consider if I am ever fortunate enough to have a daughter.

For the son I might have known, if God had granted me a son, I would go with Marius. I would even consider Enjolras. Of course all these name selections hinge on my wife. She will have carried him or her for 9 month and will probably go through 24+ hours of excruciating labour, I figure she should at the very least have first choice in naming our child. HahA!

Marius is a very old Latin name, most often associated with the radical populist (by Roman standards) general and politician Gaius Marius, an older relative and model for Julius Caesar. That, no doubt, is why Victor Hugo chose it, but if you name a child that nowadays, some people might think you're an admirer of the Roman general, not Hugo.

A friend of mine named his daughter Cosette. People ask him where they got that name and his response is "Les Miserables".

My puppy (German Shepherd) is due to be born shortly.
If there is a suitable male, his name will be Javert.
If not, her name will be Daisy.
