'One Day More' 25th Anniversary performance overshadows

the actual 'One Day More' performance in the musical itself? I kind of think it does, even though the 'encore' version doesn't reflect the characters' acting, but it seemed more "authentic" in terms of musical talent.

I disliked the lead for Marius, and then I found out it was one of the Jonas Brothers. What the heck?

But my goodness Eponine was smoking. I would've picked her over Cosette any day.

The encore performance by the 1985 cast overshadowed...everything else. OMG, Roger Allam... I know everyone completely loves Philip Quast and I get that, but Roger is just perfection. And every single person in the original cast was WOW.

I do agree with you - I love Samantha Barks!

Roger Allum is a good, very respected actor, but perhaps lacks vocally hence why everyone thinks of Philip Quast. Though I felt it took the audience too long to respond to Allum's performance because for someone who admits he wasn't musical, he does give a very good performance Javert.

I really love 'One Day More' in the 25th Anniversary, except for Nick Jonas (he wasn't terrible, but he got steamrolled by the others (though I don't think he was bad in 'Empty Chairs at Empty Tables')). I really want to just take away his voice and add in Eddie Redmayne's.
