Worth seeing. Film is not boring or badly shot.

Film was much more interesting than expected. Not sure why it isn't pitched to basketball fans, the hoards of Middle East obsessed, Feminists and people who want to see African Americans do well. Kevin Sheppard is a very effective US Ambassador to Iran by being a personable, honest, smart and talented basketball player in what should be a hostile environment. For a big paycheck Sheppard was thrown sink or swim into a situation where he was designated team captain in spite of not speaking Farsi, ending up coaching a team of enthusiastic players who weren't playing what he considered basketball and had to navigate social rules where someone can be beaten if caught breaking the rules and even the building manager could rat you out. Fortunately people liked him and understood he was from a different culture. Very fortunately. A delicious but tense dinner with the father of one of his female friends who seems to be disappointed that he fled early was as hostile as it gets. The setting is Shiraz, in the SW of Iran. Instead of billboards the sides of buildings are brightly painted with ads. Good footage of an Iran most of us aren't going to see from the inside.
