Had no idea this was a sequel

Find the original if you can--it'll be worth the effort (and should be a lot easier now). I saw the sequel first (at my city's international film festival), on the big screen, and loved it, and had tried to find the first film for the longest time, hearing it had 'masterpiece' status by two film critics I grew up admiring (Roger Ebert and Leonard Maltin). Finally, at a department store chain, both films were in a 2-blu package, new, for just $3. Both films have director commentaries from Shebib, the original has the famous SCTV parody added, and the sequel includes a making-of documentary (though I haven't watched it yet). Depending on your location or on eBay, it shouldn't be very hard to find anymore.
