Amazing documentary.

I don't know anything about horses and I am not specially fond of them (I definitely don't dislike them either!). And the thing is you don't have to - this movie was beautiful and touching even for someone who is not particularly interested in these animals. Buck is such a personality and he treats the horses with great respect - like they deserve. In my opinion the film contained at least two great scenes (one of them really sad), but I'm not gonna spoil it here.

The story about his background made me believe that he relates to the horses like he himself was the beaten, mistreated animal who didn't grow until it was treated with love and affection. Man do I wish people stopped beating/punishing their pets for wrongdoings and instead started raising them in a positive and respectful way. Kudos to Buck.

Definitely recommended.

Agree completely. It was a beautiful film, and I couldn't respect Buck more for breaking that cycle of abuse and filling a needed role in the world even though it keeps him away from his family more than he would like.

I thought this was a great film. My husband used to train horses and is a major horse lover. I don't dislike them, but I'm glad we don't own any horses anymore.

Buck is an amazing man and survivor.

Maybe I just woke up in a sappy mood but it actually made me tear up. I thought it was a wonderful heart filled movie. I use to have a horse ranch in the foothills near Chico Cali and I only wish I had known all the whispering he did. I use to love going to the rodeo in Red Bluff, it was so fun and I bet I saw Buck there and didn't even know of him 25 years ago, I now live in Tennessee. I truly loved this movie.

Dead giveaway of a NorCal resident! LOL Grew up in Wheatland/Marysville and attending rodeos in Red Bluff(would have been about 25-30yrs ago) and working for Cotton at the Flying U. Still a Marysville resident(after a brief 15yr foray in the Bay Area) and still love this area. This was a great doc and as an animal lover(we work in Husky Rescue and own 4 of them) I cannot imagine living without my dogs, my childhood with horses, working on the ranches and teach my sons the same thing. Compassion. It's all about compassion.
