How come reincarnation of Norse gods are from new Zealand and not Iceland or Sweeden or something like that.

Because it's a New Zealand tv show, created by a New Zealander, for the New Zealand audience. Why would they be from somewhere else?

What's more, why is it less appropriate for them to be reincarnated in New Zealand than in Iceland or Sweden? I don't get it.

Because Norse god mythos come from that area of the world.

So, how would it be funny to find Norse gods exactly where you would expect to find them? You lose the whole fish-out-of-water aspect if they're right where they're supposed to be.
