S6 E3 Discussion
In this episode Maud and Manehattan returns.
Spike: Uh... intermission?
Maud is awesome. I'm looking forward to it. I wrote a poem. It's about rocks. They're all about rocks.
shareI like Maud Pie. Her love of rocks makes her a cool character.

Rarity was the highlight for this episode, spot on impersonation of Pinkie Pie. Cute, and nice to see Rarity expanding into bigger territory, but not really a whole lot else.
shareAnother awesome episode featuring Maud Pie (she seems to be in all the best eps in the past few seasons). Felt that the character portrayals in this episode were spot on, playing to each pony's personality and making them cute and endearing, rather than one dimensional and/or annoying. Maybe it's because they expressed more emotions than just one (Pinkie Pie was excited, embarrassed, hysterical, depressed, etc. Rarity was refined, excited, agitated, hysterical, concerned, etc. Maud was Maud.) There were less ponies, so more time for the ponies present to express themselves-using the show's trademark cute, expressive facial expressions, no less (there were quite a few good faces in the last few minutes alone). I also felt all the humor really hit the marks in this one. I especially liked Rarity's impression of Pinkie Pie towards the end, heh.
So yeah; probably another of my favorite episodes. Funny, cute, sweet, etc. And Maud Pie talking about rocks.
Cynicism is easy.
It was great to see Maud Pie again. I like Pinkie and Maude is a great character too. Rarity's presence made me enjoy the episode too.

I enjoyed it. I personally like to see the ponies breaking away from their primary character and having more dimension to them. I admit, I have a thing for Rarity losing her cool, always gets a laugh out of me. PSSS-D for some reason made me laugh every time it was said, but then again I still laugh at farts as well, so... yeah.
shareMaude Pie actually reminds me so much of Daria. Both very low-key, dowdy characters.
