What About Discord - Discussion
I liked the episode, but Twilights flaws are way too obvious. I guess that's what happens when you make her a deity. The concept that you "just didn't get it" is also a lesson I don't resonate with.

shareI liked Discord's line about shared experiences being uncreatable, no matter how hard you tried, lol. It's a concept that's been expressed in my ecology class; nature is unpredictable and chaotic. It doesn't operate like a machine, in spite of what philosophers and scientists from the Renaissance thought. I also liked Discord's Bob Rossing.
It was a weird episode, with all the inside jokes that the viewer wasn't privy to, either.
Cynicism is easy.
I thought it was a good episode. I like that Discord has developed a lot as a character and isn't anywhere as antagonistic or villainous.
Iron Maiden is bigger than Jesus.
I liked this episode, too. I was afraid that Discord was back-sliding into his villainous ways, so I was so glad that he was only teaching Twilight a lesson about the complexities of friendship (especially with so many friends), which is supposed to be her job! It was a good 'you never stop learning' episode. Also, I couldn't stop laughing at Discord's "Joy of Painting" with Bob Ross bit! Would any young children watching this show get that reference? Further proof that this show is made for adults....
I can't swim.

This episode came across as a bit too mean spirited for my liking
shareI know I'm late saying this, but I was kind of disappointed Discord and Fluttershy didn't interact in that episode. I'm hoping that during the sixth season (or better yet, the current season) we see some more interaction between them. I know I've said this many times.
