Was the new episode........?

Was the new episode supposed to be a parody of Parks & Rec? I was thinking this mainly because of the title and the "mockumentary" style of the episode. Also did anyone else notice the Pulp Fiction ponies or was I just seeing things?

I don't think it was parodying any particular show, but it was parodying the style of The Office(which Parks and Rec copied.) Personally I am not a fan of that style of comedy.

I never saw Pulp Fiction so I cannot speak to that. They did have a Pinkie Pie clone in the background in the diner, along with the Rainbow Dash copy from Putting your Hoof Down who was at DJ Pon 3's party.

It reminded me of Pulp Fiction, heck, it also reminded me of that short lived 2015 Muppets show that got cancelled after one season.

They were simply parodying the style popularized by The Office. The Muppets did that as well.

I would have liked something else as the format for The Muppets, as the original The Muppet Show was not parodying the then popular variety show like people tend to think, but the then recently outdated British Music Hall. They missed the point of the Muppets with the 2015 series and instead picked something current while the real Muppets is about a fond look back to yesteryear with a little bit of today mixed in. Not the now now now now! Go back to Muppets Tonight and they still got it there. They parodied the kind of late night television shows which were waning in popularity from their heyday at the time. The whole approach done right has a nice nostalgic feel to it while being topical enough to draw in viewers.
