My Little McCarthyists

Dear God, it's McCarthyism. I'm not a "Brony" or a follower of the show, but I have a 4 year old who loves this stuff, and I've watched enough of these to know that it's more tolerable than most of the other kids shows these days.

But watching the episode "Cutie Map," it's absolutely a not at all subtle communist allegory. To those of you too young to understand what any of that means, feel free to google it, and it will make sense.

I was told it's not Communism.

I thought that was an interesting approach for the season opener.

Cynicism is easy.

I think you're overthinking things there a little bit, OP.

Do you know the difference between a cult, Communism, and Socialism? Starlight Glimmer's town was a cult. Cults bring people in with promises of inclusiveness, well being, communal love, a lack of want, a lack of judgment or cruelty, and unwavering support. This can hide forced conformity, lack of individual identities, an inability to leave, and a lack of free will.
