Dungeons and Discord - Discussion

It was great to see the return of Discord and even though it wasn't the focus of the episode, it was good to see Discord and Fluttershy's friendship get a brief shout out at the beginning of the episode. This episode only further proved that Discord has come a long way and has developed a lot as a character. In Make New Friends But Keep Discord, he learns you can have more than one friend and in What About Discord, he finally becomes friends with the rest of the Mane 6. Here, it was good to see him bond with Spike and Big Mac after he, as I just said, bonded with the rest of the Mane 6 in What About Discord in addition to already having a fleshed out friendship with Fluttershy. I like that in almost every Discord episode since he returned as a recurring character in Keep Calm and Flutter On they usually squeeze in a moment or two between Fluttershy and Discord, even if their friendship isn't the focus of the episode.

It was awesome to see him playing RPG with Spike and Big Mac!

I thought it was a good episode, but I wish they would have spent less time showing the game getting started and more time showing them in the game world. Also what was the point of RD and Pinkie joining the game, but not letting us see them play?

Not really my favorite. Thought it was boring and a let down, but it was nice to see Discord again.

I feel that even though Discord learned in Make New Friends But Keep Discord that you can have more than one friend and while he finally became friends with the rest of the Mane 6 in What About Discord, this episode showed that he still had/has reservations about adding to his circle of friends. As of this episode, and the season 6 finale, I liked what they've done with Discord's character. He's come a long way and his character will only continue to develop for the better.

It was obvious Discord initially claimed he didn't want to associate with Spike and Big Mac was because he was, like Fluttershy said, afraid they would not like him. He was trying to cover it up by claiming he was above them. It's obvious that he and Fluttershy are close friends (even though he befriended the rest of the Mane 6 in What About Discord, he still closest to Fluttershy out of the all of the Mane 6) and she knew that's what he was hiding when she asked him "unless you're afraid they won't like you". Given that Fluttershy is his best friend, she was able to read him like a book. Sorry, but it took me a while to realize that.
