Parents Guide discussion for My Little Pony Friendship is Magic

To all those imdb who contributed to the profanity section, I have cleaned out the profanity section in the parents guide. I need to talk to those imdb users about what you contributed to “My Little Pony Friendship is Magic”.

1.

Nothing explicit, but some real-life profanity has been translated to "pony profanity"; for example: "hell" is "hay".

I haven’t heard any pony use the word “Hell” as there’s no evidence.

2.
Some insults, like: moron, dumb, nincompoop, whelp, stupid, idiot. "Fool" is usually replaced with "foal", yet again demonstrating the "pony profanity" term.

Name calling that was in the show is ok, but there’s no need for a lengthy explanation.

3.
In one episode, a pony says "I wouldn't pay one cent for this dreck!" "Dreck" means "s***" in Yiddish and several other languages.

The episode you’re referring to is “The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000”, yes, the character does say “dreck” but you're referring to foreign swear words which is off topic. Remember that this is not a “Family Guy”, “South Park”, “Robot Chicken, or “The Simpsons” or “Tripping the Rift” cartoon. Please, Do not put misleading foul language in the parents guide, unless it was actually used in the show in which case is also not. It can be confusing them with misleading information.

4.
In "The Cutie Pox", when Apple Bloom is speaking in French for a brief period of time, she says "Sacre bleu!", which can mean "damn it", or "darn it" at its most tame translation.

I haven’t heard any pony use the word “Damn” as there’s no evidence for it to be on the Parents Guide.

5.
In "Putting Your Hoof Down", Fluttershy states that she "doesn't give a flying feather!" This is a reference to the phrase, 'Don't give a flying *beep*

Remember, this is not a “Family Guy”, “South Park”, “Robot Chicken, or “The Simpsons” or “Tripping the Rift” cartoon. Please do not put misleading foul language in parents guide unless it was actually used in the show in which case is not, that’s also confusing them with misleading information.

6.
While she doesn't actually curse, Rarity acts like a stereotypical country dweller in the episode "Simple Ways" that some may consider offensive.

This is off the subject, please stay on the subject and be relevant.

7.
In the episode Appleloosa's Most Wanted, one of the characters describes an incident at a rodeo that he said "caused them to cancel the whole 'dag gum' thing". Representing the pony profanity again, this is a possible pony version of "God damn".

8.
In the same episode, another pony says "dag hoof it, this has gone far enough!", a possible pony version of "God damn it".

Again I haven’t heard any cowboy pony swearing, yes, they do use slang.

Whoever put up misleading information in the profanity guide owes an apology for putting misleading rude swear words in the parents guide. This is a rated TV-G, TV-PG kids show, Unless you are well aware of the profanity that was in the Hasbro 1986 cartoon movie “Transformers: The Movie”.

Now I want to be respectful and friendly to imdb users. Any misleading information or rudeness has no place in the parents guide.
Remember that Parents guide is for telling parents and kids what’s actually in the show, not for your personal opinions or rudeness or off subject topics. Please be considerate and respectful in the Parents guide or it could end up getting locked down.

And I’m sorry to the imdb users if I deleted your hard work. But I can’t have the parents guide cluttered with rude, misleading information, we need to think about other people who may be reading the parents guide for this TV show.

Now you may write back in the forum below. Please remember to be respectful in the parents guide and please let me know how I can be a better imdb user. And please don’t let the parents guide be a mess anymore.

The trivia section is even worse.

Because of the show's overwhelming popularity, which generates a high volume of fan-related content, the show creators have to do their research to make sure any one of the several pre-existing characters they wish to feature in an episode don't use a name that in any way sounds similar to one created by the fan base.
It's Hasbro's property, period. They don't have to be careful about anything.
Fans of the show outside the target demographic are often called "bronies". This is a combination of the words "bro" and "pony".
Don't flatter yourself, bronies. The actual origin is a play on the 4Chan's /b/ board and ponies, who originally suggested people should watch it. source https://youtu.be/olLDrvc1qt4?t=148.
Many people believe that Rarity's personality is based off of that of actress Chloë Sevigny.
Do they?
While the show is labled for younger female audiences many of the jokes and references in the show have adult themes to them. Some include references to alcohol, movies for adults (like The Big Lebowski), and a few references to older bands and music (like Diamond Dogs).
Yes, like pretty much every cartoon ever. MLP isn't the first and won't be the last cartoon to put a few dirty jokes into their stories, it's not unique.
Although never credited, Lynne Naylor did the final design of Princess Luna/Nightmare Moon.
Wrong. The official MLP guidebook, Elements of Harmony, page 26. It credits Lynne Taylor for the design, even stating Luna's original name was Selena, which is a piece of trivia they got right. A screenshot can be provided if necessary.

I think Rarity was sort of based on Scarlett O'Hara but I find Rarity more loveable. Fluttershy sounds like Marilyn Monroe. I believe Billy Bob Thornton said that.

Parents guide update for My Little Pony Friendship is Magic is under a lockdown.

Dear imdb users reading this forum. The parents guide has been locked down in order to prevent further misinformation in the parents guide section.

I apologize to those who wanted to contribute in the parents guide but it's probably better this way because I and others don't want people getting the wrong information about the TV show.

And to all those who did come across misinformation in the parents guide I'm sorry you had to see misleading offensive language, don't worry, it's a kids show and I want people to feel safe and happy and be able to enjoy the TV show.

If you still want to do a parents guide in the forum, feel free to do so, but please try keep it accurate and respectful. "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" is one of my favorite TV shows, Even all of the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s My Little Pony shows.

Do you realize that the only parents who are actually going to read the parents guide for my little pony are the ones who are going to be concerned about their children using "hay" as a substitute for "hell"?
Not that I really care. I find your concern amusing and misplaced. Just saying.

Actually, I would have never looked at the parents guide of you hadn't posted this nonsense.
I guess, thanks for helping out the children of overly strict parents, so they might experience my little pony.
