So...you guys have any MLP ships?

I know that's kind of an awkward question here, seeing how this is a "kids show", but I've seen many pony ships gain a lot of popularity these days. So, I'm asking as a fellow pegasister: what are your favorite pony ships?

I'll give you mine, if it makes you feel any better:

CheesePie: I know that Cheese Sandwich only had one episode so far, but honestly, I can't think of a better match for Pinkie Pie other than him, and I thought it was really cute when he said that Pinkie was his main inspiration. 

SoarinDash: Like CheesePie, these two didn't have a lot of episodes together, but after Rarity Investigates, it seemed more than obvious that Soarin has a thing for Dashie. 

RariJack: Yeah, I know that these two are both girls, but I just love their friendship and the way that their opposite personalities contrast each other. Besides, I never really shipped Sparity, because despite Spike's obvious crush on her, I think Rarity only sees him as a little brother type of friend. Plus, from what I've seen so far, Applejack never really had a male love interest, so I figured, why not ship her with Rarity?

StarBurst: Now this one's pretty obvious. I was considering shipping Starlight Glimmer with Trixie or Twilight, but Starlight's had a much closer relationship with Sunburst, and they've also known each other longer, so it makes sense to me.

MoonLight: Again, I know that they're both girls, but I HATE shipping Twilight with Flash Sentry! Flash isn't even a love interest, he was just useless pairing fodder for Equestria Girls. Besides, Twilight and Moon Dancer seem to have a similar relationship to Starlight and Sunburst, and I find that adorable.

FlutterCord: I'm sorry, I can't help it. I LOVE these two together, even if their just friends, and just like Rarity and Applejack, I think that Fluttershy and Discord's personalities contrast each other perfectly. I know that this a very controversial pairing because of the "age difference", but that never stopped Labyrinth fangirls from shipping Jarerth and Sarah together. Besides, the fanart for this pairing is super cute! So yeah, this is pretty much my OTP for this show. 

Even though I like the idea of Fluttercord, I'm fine with Fluttershy and Discord being good friends. Personally, I think them being good friends is becoming my favorite part of the show. Also, sorry for the major edit.

Fluttershy/Discord

Fluttershy/Rainbow Dash (I'd go into detail about this, but since Discord came in, I have to admit I rethought this one a bit.)

Rarity/Tom..............................Just kidding.

Twilight Sparkle/Flash Sentry The human one, she has a thing for non equines, what can I say? This means all of you guys who like Twilight Sparkle have a chance if she was real. 

I need to see some kind of on screen evidence to back up any ships, so, that is it.

Personally and maybe I'm biased, but I find Discord and Fluttershy to be the two most fleshed out and developed characters on the show and maybe that is why they are my two favorite characters although I love Fluttershy and Rarity the same and I love Pinkie Pie too just not quite as much as Fluttershy and Rarity. Personally as I've said before, even though Fluttershy is still quiet and introverted she has become more stern, motherly, and bold overtime and Discord has as I've said before gone from a villain to a good guy and every episode he only continues to blossom even further into a better character. As I've said many times, Discord and Fluttershy have perfect chemistry and I think that both characters have developed so much because in part by how well they play off each other. Like you mentioned.

My theory as to how they could hook up Discord and Fluttershy right now is that maybe in the two part season premiere, a new threat could be rising in the wake of Fluttershy realizing her feelings towards Discord and in the wake of this threat, she confesses to him and they get together all while overthrowing whatever threat they face. Then Discord could meet Fluttershy's family in the next episode featuring Discord. Then the two part season finale could be where Discord and Fluttershy are engaged and Tirek and Queen Chrysalis are both plotting against Equestria. I could see Discord wanting to get back at Tirek for causing him to hurt Fluttershy and wanting to get back at Queen Chrysalis for kidnapping Fluttershy. Fluttershy could help Discord realize that revenge isn't the answer and maybe after the gang defeats Chrysalis and Tirek, the episode could end with Discord and Fluttershy's wedding and they could be a married couple in the following season if an 8th season happens. Maybe Discord will finally get the throne he asked about in the season 4 finale for that matter. I'm only theorizing and honestly, I hope the exact air date of season 7 gets announced because I don't see us having to wait any later than April. My gut feeling is it'll air April 15 since that is the day before Easter and both season 5 and 6 aired the day before Easter.

I kind of think the concept of Fluttercord is influenced by the story of Beauty and the Beast. Not just the 1991 Disney film, but also the 1946 French version and the fairy tale in general. Heck, it also appears to be influenced by Edward Scissorhands which I believe, like Fluttercord, is influenced by the fairy tale Beauty and the Beast.

I personally think the pairing of Fluttercord is also similar to Jessica Rabbit being married to Roger Rabbit in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Roger and Jessica Rabbit are an odd couple, but it still worked, whereas, Fluttercord is considered strange by some, but given that Fluttershy and Discord have great chemistry together as best friends, they do have potential as a couple.

After watching the season 6 finale, I think Discord and Fluttershy might have a thing for each other and just might see each other as more than friends despite both clearly being friend zoned at the moment. Discord was so protective of her throughout the episode, and the hug they shared after Queen Chrysalis' (sorry if I spelled that wrong) second defeat was really cute. Plus, in Dungeons and Discords, I thought it was cute the way they specifically showed how happy Fluttershy was that Discord had added Spike and Big Mac to his circle of friends. I'm not trying to overthink and if I am, I apologize. I have a habit of overthinking LOL :)

I would say the finale made it very clear that to Discord, Fluttershy is his everything. If that isn't love, I don't know what is. Now, if Fluttershy feels that way about Discord is yet to be seen.

I've seen Fluttershy blush at Discord such as when he hugged her in the season 6 finale as I mentioned, when Discord went eye to eye with her in the season 4 finale, the way they stared at each other when Discord, in the same episode, asked her if they were still on for tea, and then there was the moment in Three's A Crowd where Fluttershy stroked Discord while referring him o her "little patient. I also just remembered when Discord betrayed them to Tirek, Fluttershy cried. I imagine we might get more fleshed out hints from Fluttershy in season 7.

Still, a blush doesn't mean she loves him like that. She could just feel embarrassed that he did that in front of everyone. As for her crying when Discord gave them up to Tirek. Well, what if a very good friend of yours betrayed you like that? I can't blame her for being upset. I suspect they will be making them a romantic couple if Discord now is shown to be in love with her. Only time will tell. Poor Princess Celestia, she lost Discord to a lowly Pegasus. 

I still ship human Flash Sentry and pony Twilight Sparkle in show. Think of the children from Twilight Sparkle/Flash Sentry, and Fluttershy/Discord. 

For some reason, I was afraid Fluttershy was still upset with Discord from the events of Make New Friends But Keep Discord. They didn't really interact in What About Discord but that episode was more so intended to show Discord had become friends with the rest of the Mane Six in addition to already being best friends with Fluttershy. Of course, and maybe I'm overthinking, but their interaction in Dungeons and Discords and To Where and Back Again showed that Fluttershy wasn't upset with him at all. Again, I have a habit of overthinking.

I think Make New Friends But Keep Discord was their way of showing things had gotten better between the two since Discord's betrayal in Twilight's Kingdom. By the time of What about Discord we see a chummier relation showing things are even better. By season six we see that Discord and Fluttershy are best friends. I'd say Fluttershy is closer to Discord than any of the Mane Six now. If it goes any further than friendship is yet to be seen.

I know what you mean. Even though Discord finally became friends with the rest of the Mane 6 in What About Discord, Fluttershy is still his closest/best friend out of all the Mane 6.

I really do hope that if Discord really does love Fluttershy and it seems obvious that he does, I hope he can win her heart. It would be touching to see him win the heart of the first friend he ever made. It would be painful to see him suffer from a broken heart since he's become one of the most likeable characters on the show and given how far Discord's character has come, winning Fluttershy's heart might be the big finale for his character arc. Plus it would also be anticlimactic if he failed to win her heart. Of course, Fluttershy has referred to Discord as a sweetheart per se. I gotta say I'm really psyched for season 7.

I hope we get an episode with them hooking up or an episode where they are shown as a couple. Either way it would be a good opportunity for a lesson about romantic relationships, or dealing with a friend who is dating.

Another thing I wonder is, if Fluttershy and Discord hook up, will the other members of the Mane 6 find love? I wonder if Cheese Sandwich will return and hook up with Pinkie Pie? Will Spike ever win Rarity's heart? I mean, is his crush on Rarity going to lead up to something since he's felt that way towards her since Season 1? I know some pair Spike with Applejack, but I don't remember any romantic interaction between them. Rainbow Dash might get together with either Quibble Pants or Soarin (I forget if I spelled his name right or if that is his full name but I know the pairing is called SoarinDash), if Spike and Applejack hook up, maybe Rarity will hook up with Fancy Pants. Twilight could pair off with Flash Sentry. You might not agree with me on that, but all the same, I have been theorizing for a while that we'll get Equestria Girls incorporated into the show and Sunset Shimmer might eventually appear on the actual show. My point in the end is, what if the evil force they face in either season 7 or 8 (if a season 8 happens; I wonder if a 9th season will happen for that matter) can only be defeated not only by the Mane 6 but by the combined force of the Mane 6 and each of their respective one true love. I feel that the message in that sense could be true love defies all. Also, I do not know of any other candidates for Applejack's love interest so if anybody can fill me in then that would be great.

I don't think they should try to pair them all off, but they should just end the crush part of Spike/Rarity. Either get them together, or make him find love elsewhere. It is not like Spike doesn't have a chance with Rarity. He is only slightly younger than Twilight Sparkle in years(although dragons must have longer lifespans), and there are an assortment of transformation spells. Remember the one Twilight Sparkle used to turn the mane six into breezies? I would be fine with pony Spike.

With the most recent Equestria Girls movie, Twilight/Flash is not happening(they are clearly heading towards Sunset/Flash.) Perhaps Twilight Sparkle will find love elsewhere. As for the others, I never got the feeling those were romantic relationships. I could see Soarin/Rainbow eventually happening, but not the others.

I say, either pair Spike with Ember, or Rarity. Then have one or two of the mane six hook up.

I don't remember much of Fancy Pants' character, but is he really a legit love interest for Rarity? I think it might be best in the long run if Spike and Ember got together. I'm not trying to sound like a wet blanket or a stick in the mud to anyone on this thread, but I don't really think Rarity is in love with Spike the way he is in love with her. She likes him as a friend. I remember on Hamtaro (IDK how well anybody on here recalls that show), the characters of Howdy and Dexter were best friends who competed for Pashmina's romantic affections but neither of them won her heart and of course Boss was in love with Bijou but she loved Hamtaro. I imagine Spike and Rarity might just be friends and Spike will hook up with Ember. To me, that feels more realistic. I think the writers intended to introduce Ember as more legit love interest for Spike. No doubt, we might get a Hitler reaction video in response to Spike hooking up with Ember instead of Rarity since we got a Hitler reaction video to Ichigo from Bleach hooking up with Orihime (never liked her character) instead of Rukia (I liked that Rukia and Renji got together though) and a Hitler reaction to Naruto hooking up with Hinata instead of Sakura. Though personally, I was one of the few who liked Hinata better than Sakura and never really liked Sakura that much for that matter.

I think they implied very effectively Fancy Pants and Fleur Dis Lis were romantically involved. If she is not his wife or girlfriend, then his consort.

With Spike and Rarity, I am neither writing out the possibility of a romantic relationship, nor am I seeing it as an absolute outcome. Sometimes those kind of relationships do get serious. Often they don't, but as viewers we can't rule it out entirely. Rainbow Dash got in the Wonderbolts, Twilight Sparkle became a Princess, and Discord became redeemed. Anything could happen if the writers choose to make it so. I just want them to end the whole "will Spike ever win Rarity's heart?" nonsense. Have him end the crush and go somewhere else, OR hook Spike and Rarity up.

Another thing I'm wondering is if Fluttershy and Discord hook up, will they have any children? I've read fan fictions where they have children. Part of me wonders if a spin off to this series could happen if this show was to end in the long run and maybe in this spin off the fate of Equestria would depend on a new group of ponies who the Elements of Harmony could hypothetically get passed on to. If not the Elements of Harmony, then maybe just the role of the protectors of Equestria could get passed on to a new group of ponies, who as I've stated, the safety of Equestria could depend on, while Twilight and her friends keep their elements. I mean, Celestia an Luna have in the past saved Equestria. In a spin off, the Mane 6 and various MLP:FIM alumni could appear periodically in addition to new protagonists. One of the secondary characters in a hypothetical spin off could be Fluttershy and Discord's children who could be part Pegasus, part draconequus (I may've spelled that wrong) and their children trying to be accepted into society and feeling accepted could be one of the show's sub plots similar to how the Cutie Mark Crusaders had their sub plot of earning their cutie marks and later putting their talents to use. Again, maybe I'm over speculating.

I generally make it a policy to avoid fan fiction for things I am a fan of, but I think them having foals wouldn't be a problem. Discord can simply turn into a pegasus just like he turned into an earth pony in Twilight's Kingdom part 1. There is another way too. The show has been very loose with intertribal breeding on occasions. Remember that Carrot Cake's great-great-great-great grandfather was a unicorn, and Cup Cake's great aunt's second cousin twice removed was a Pegasus. Thus they had Pound and Pumpkin. So, no problem.

Wait..... Pound Cake is a pegasus because his mother's second COUSIN twice removed was a pegasus? That makes sense, right? RIGHT? I am certain that male alicorn we saw in Rarity Takes Manehattan could not have had anything to do with it even though he spent a lot of time in Ponyville ten months before they were born. Right?

Another thing I'm pondering now is, given that the Fluttercord pairing has a lot in common with the fairy tale Beauty and the Beast, maybe Discord will become a Pegasus not so much so he can be with Fluttershy (I think different species on this show can pair up) but so they can have offspring, or maybe, and this might be jumping the shark but, maybe Fluttershy will become a draconequus and it could be like in Shrek where Princess Fiona permanently became an ogre. Shrek of course was mocking Disney's Beauty and the Beast in that sense. But I think it would be more likely if Discord became a Pegasus as opposed to Fluttershy becoming a draconequus. I imagine if they get together, maybe they'll want to have foals and hypothetically speaking, maybe they won't be able to have children unless Discord becomes a Pegasus or if Fluttershy becomes a draconequus and that could be the conflict of that particular story.

No, Discord would be the one to give up his form, not Fluttershy. He loves her for who she is, I don't see him forcing that change on her. I also don't see Fluttershy choosing to becoming a Draconequis either. If anything, Discord losing his Draconequis form would end his reformation arch, having him choose a normal life with Fluttershy. As opposed to staying immortal and having to see her grow old and die while he remains forever young. 

Of course they most likely won't go there, just the interspecies offspring at best.

I'd hope they go with the interspecies offspring concept myself but maybe Discord will end up willingly giving up his immortality and become a Pegasus so he won't have to live forever while Fluttershy grows old and dies. If he was to learn that, that would encourage him to give up his draconequus form. Either that, or so they can produce offspring. But I image that given their history together, if Discord loves Fluttershy for who she is, she no doubt would love him for who he is and she probably wouldn't want Discord to give up his form anymore than he would want her to give up her form. In the end, I could possibly see them having interspecies offspring and hopefully, Discord won't have to give up his draconequus form unless it's so he can selflessly grow old and die with Fluttershy. I don't mean to repeat what you said, but I agree with you on that.

One thing that I've noticed between Fluttershy and Discord is that if they pair up, they could have a lot in common with a lot of couples on sitcoms such as Fred and Wilma on The Flintstones, George and Louise on The Jeffersons, Archie and Edith on All In The Family, Peter and Lois on Family Guy or Homer and Marge on The Simpsons. Discord can be arrogant and boorish, but beneath it all, has a good heart and Fluttershy is more so level headed and acts as the voice of reason. Especially in Make New Friends But Keep Discord where Discord overreacts to Fluttershy making a new friend and Fluttershy helps him realize that just because she made a new friend doesn't mean that she isn't his friend anymore. Of course Peter Griffin has become more of a sociopath in later Family Guy episodes and Discord would never be reduced to that. I've also noticed that Discord is like Tony Stark and Fluttershy is like Pepper Potts from Iron Man. Like Tony Stark, Discord tends to be snarky and behaves like a smart ass but both characters are written to be likeable despite that. Then you have both Benedict Cumberbatch's and Robert Downey Jr's respective versions of Sherlock Holmes who can be ass holes but still have a good heart. Although, I have a hard time comparing Fluttershy to Irene Adler.

Discord and Fluttershy also remind me of Han Solo and Princess Leia for that matter. If anybody ever did My Little Star Wars, you could have Discord as Han Solo and Fluttershy as Princess Leia. Fluttercord has a chance more so than the various pairings with Ash Ketchum in Pokémon. Most people argue Misty is the perfect match for Ash, but she hasn't even been featured on the show for 10-15+ years and it's been so long since she was even mentioned. Many argue that May, who replaced Misty on the show was more so in love with her main rival Drew, but all the same, a lot of people paired Ah and May. Ash and Dawn could've worked as a couple, but Dawn, like Misty and May before her came and went. Then you had Serena who actually knew Ash before the start of the series and has a crush on Ash. Honestly though, did the writers really plan to introduce Serena as Ash's long lost friend when they first created the show 15 years or so in advance? That concept was really jumping the shark for me. Serena left and isn't featured in the current Sun and Moon series. I imagine a lot of people here know Pokémon in one way or another and My Little Pony has something Pokémon doesn't have, and that is closure, so I honestly think Fluttershy and Discord will have closure but we can all agree that Nintendo plans on milking every dollar out of Pokémon and I don't see Ash ever finding love and quite honestly, I don't think he ever showed he was in love with any of his female companions. Not even Misty, who was his first friend other than Pikachu or Serena who was clearly in love with him. I know Hasbro makes money off My Little Pony the same way Nintendo makes money off Pokémon, but all the previous versions of My Little Pony had closure and Hasbro will eventually reboot MLP after Friendship Is Magic runs it's course.

I thought I'd also point out that Discord has a sweet side that he seems to have developed from hanging out with Fluttershy and I think Fluteershy has gotten her snarky moments from hanging out with Discord. She was obviously playfully teasing Discord when he was insisting that he didn't want to hang out with Spike and Big Mac in Dungeons and Discords for example. I mentioned earlier in this thread that in Bleach Ichigo got together with Orihime while Rukia and Renji got together and I think a lot of the Bleach fan base wanted Ichigo and Rukia to get together on account that Rukia did at times play out as a love interest to Ichigo just as much or even more so than Orihime then in Naruto, the title character Naruto got together with Hinata as opposed to Sakura who got together with Sasuke. I imagine Naruto and Sakura getting together was a popular choice with the Naruto fan base but I was one of the few who was happy that he got together with Hinata and I was one of the few who liked Hinata in general and better than Sakura. My point being in this case would be that I honestly don't see Discord getting together with Princess Celestia given that the writers have seemingly been more partial to Discord and Fluttershy getting together. As I mentioned before, we got Hitler reaction videos to Ichigo pairing up with Orihime as opposed to Rukia and we got one for Naruto getting together with Hinata as opposed to Sakura. I imagine if Discord and Princess Celestia get together, we'll get a Hitler reaction video in response to Discord choosing Princess Celestia over Fluttershy. I know I mentioned the Bleach/Naruto ordeal before in this thread, but I compared it to Spike hypothetically choosing between Ember or Rarity and more than likely getting together with Ember instead of Rarity. In this case, I can't help but compare the pairings in Bleach and Naruto to the love triangle the MLP fan base seems to have created with Fluttershy, Discord, and Princess Celestia. In a related note, I never really liked Fullmetal Alchemist for a lot of reasons and one of them was Ed getting together with Winry and that was because I never really liked Winry. I grew tired of Bleach when it went in a Dragon Ball Z direction and the fight sequences grew extremely drawn out and there was so much talking during the fight sequences (seriously, do they have to explain every single detail regarding what their next move is?) but Ichigo getting together with Orihime was the icing on the cake as far as me no longer having any further interest in Bleach since, as I said in my earlier reply, I never really liked Orihime. I like Princess Celestia's character a lot and I would not hold it against MLP FIM if she and Discord get together but it just seems like, as I said, the writers seem like they've been more partial to Fluttershy and Discord pairing up ever since Discord came back as a recurring character in Keep Calm and Flutter On. Even though Discord offered Celestia a bouquet of flowers at the end of the season 4 finale, I believe I read the writers said he did it to apologize as opposed to hinting that he loves her.

I'm also wondering how they'll introduce Discord to Fluttershy's family? Is it possible that when Discord meets Fluttershy's family will they already be dating or engaged or will Fluttershy introduce Discord to her family as her friend, is it possible that her feelings towards Discord be on the verge of blossoming? I could see Zephyr teasing Fluttershy about being in love with Discord if she introduces him to her family and claims he is her friend but shows several hints that she loves him.

Lastly, and again, maybe I'm over speculating, Fluttershy and Discord also hugged right before he betrayed them to Tirek. It's possible that maybe they've been a couple for a while and the writers might be planning on giving us some hint that indicate such on Fluttershy's side before eventually revealing that they are in fact a couple. One sign that they may be lovers but it hasn't been fully stated yet is the way Discord hugged her and if they weren't hypothetically lovers, the hug he gave her could very well have been sexual harassment and because that is unheard of on My Little Pony and because Fluttershy didn't seem offended by the hug could indicate that maybe they've been dating for a while and it hasn't been revealed to the audience.

Even though I love Fluttercord, I kind of like the pairing of Discord and Trixie. Both were antagonists who turned good for that matter. In a related note, I never cared for Dislestia.

Even though Fluttershy hasn't displayed any jealous traits so far such as in Make New Friends But Keep Discord (though she was too distracted by Tree Hugger in that episode to get jealous when Discord tried to make her feel jealous) but what if we get an episode next season where Discord and Trixie continue to bond and Fluttershy starts to feel jealous or left out? What if Discord bond with Trixie so much next season, that he forgets to show up for his and Fluttershy's usual Tuesday Tea Times?
