what was the deal with the walking back and forth on the bridge before his final day where his arm is in a sling, his face is muddy etc?

also, I recognized Itao (hard to miss), but if anyone's familiar with Gaki No Tsukai, have any of the other actors in this movie ever guested on Gaki or one of Matsumoto's other similar shows?
