Zach's kind of an a-hole

I don't think like this version of Bo. His character is like GOB from Arrested Development without any of the likeability.

That's the whole point.

The format of the show is fine, some of the writing is funny ... but wow is Bo hard to take if you're older than 22 or so. To see someone take so much pleasure in themselves at every second feels awkward. Sort of reminds me of Jim Carrey in the way that he seems to think every little whim he runs with is brilliant and hilarious. He's still young enough to get away with it while Carrey just looks like a doof.

Ands that's why the show is failing perhaps. Who wants to tune in each week to watch a show about an a-hole who is also a loser?

I only saw half of last weeks ep. Zach Stone is simply unlikeable and no one wants to watch a show that focuses only on an unlikeable character. Hell, many here turned in just for Shelley Hennig.

I STATRTED WATCHING IT SOLELY FOR SHELLEY HENNIG! However I still don't think the show's that bad, sorry. And I'm certainly hoping that Christy Ackerman might return as well!

Everyone wants to watch a show that focuses on an unlikeable character. Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Sons of Anarchy, Shield, Justified, Shameless, Shark... Only to name a few.

There's allure in unlikeability, which makes people invested in the stories of these Mobsters, Drug dealers, Rapists, Killers, Sluts and narcissists .

Agreed. As I posted earlier, I just finished the 3rd episode and I can't get into it. What I like about Bo Burnham is that he is so intelligent, witty, and insightful. I love his YouTube stuff and his standup can be scathing. But so far on this show, his character is so dimwitted and unlikable, I can't relate to his character. I get what he is trying to do....but it is almost like he is the wrong comedian for the part. There are moments where I see flashes of his true talent...especially in his impromptu deliveries...but most of the time, the show just feels too restrictive and scripted. I get that Burnham is parodying the personality traits of people that he normally pokes fun at. But by mimicking those traits, he loses all the wit he normally has when he is directly commenting on them.

Yeah, I think the shows downfall is exactly that. Bo plays an annoying a-hole. If he was a little less douchey, I think his exploits would have been funnier. The show was fun, but could have been better.
