Much Better Film that might've Inspired this Series

The original Collector from 1965 is so much better.

It's more thought-provoking and less a gore-fest. It might seem dated now, but it has Samantha Eggar and Terence Stamp!

My favorite exchange from that one:
Girl: "But you promised!"
Collector: "I do as I like!"

There was a short story, I believe by Theodore Sturgeon, that predates all of this. It's even more powerful. The Collector is a sympathetic character by the end, which is shocking!
