Clichéd Soundtrack

Why does the music in this film sound like I've heard it in about another 150 American Indie films already. I mean its alright but can't they come up with something more original musically other than this rehash of 70's folk/rock which then made a come back with 90's guitar bands from Manchester, UK. It definitely works really well as emotional film music and is certainly popular but is becoming tired out with over use.
