Two possible story's in one

The way I see it this film gives you two possible storylines, which one you believe is entirely down to you.

Story One.

Maggie is not from the future. She grew up being abused by her father. This got her pregnant in her early teens when she then gave birth to Abigail. After a few years living with her father and her daughter she had to leave due to abuse she was still receiving, possibly now old enough to break free. She hit the streets where she got into drugs and crime. She discovered she was dying from an incurable illness during this time. After trying to commit suicide she awakes in the bath tub and genuinely doesn't remember anything. She creates an alternative reality with the help of her friend Klaus. These two knew each other on the streets before hand. The plan, I suspect, is to get her daughter back and kill her father before she dies, gathering as much support as possible. This is interrupted by an investigation into her previous crimes, whereby she may have attempted this cult process before. Being arrested at the end is both sad for Maggie but also good news as she will have the opportunity to tell the real side of her story and her father will be punished and daughter saved.

Story Two.

Maggie is from the future. She travelled back in time to gather support and create a group of loyal supporters to help herself in the future, possibly as a leader. Upon discovering this a rival faction or police force in the future send back the black lady posing as a DoJ officer in order to stop her.


For me this film is all about story one.
