Horrible Film

Great cast - terrible film!!! The writing was the worst, and 50cent can't act!

reply

very amateurish scriptwriting.

So Alex why did you make a thread saying and i quote "it Had me in stitches for nearly all 90 minutes. Willis' best comedy since Moonlighting."

You sir are a little troll!

Cant call it a great cast when 50 cent has the main role, the wife of pinocchio tatum and some retired mma fighter is in it as well. The big mystery is how bruce willis and ryan philippe is in this movie, did they bother to read the worst heist script ever ?

I bet it was 50 cent that added the pointless chruch scenes and helping that little kid in the store, just to show how "nice" guy he is.

reply

came on guys..is it really that bad? did I waste my broadband? should I watch it and waste my time? give it a score out of ten sil vous plait

reply

5/10

And that's being really really generous. I'll definitely never watch it again. Ever.

reply

Look, i'm the biggest Bruce Willis fan i know and you'll ever know, but this is the lowest piece of crap i've seen him in.
I own all (and i mean ALL) his films, but this is the first time I feel bad watching one of Bruno's movies.
The script looks like it was written by a 12 years old, and the cinematography is amateur to say the least...

Lame, really lame.

reply

The film in general is crap, -yes!- but I have to disagree on the cinematography. This film is beautifully photographed. Maybe you are getting accustomed to the current hand-held, shaky, messed up shots as being "professional"?

reply

No, what i meant about amateur, is because it used kind of presets colours, and what bothers me the most, the overuse of one particular editing technique in almost every scene that required tension.
You just can't use that kind of technique over and over, some times two or three times in the same scene. It's ridiculous!

reply

I gave it a 3.

I usually never go below 5. hell, I gave Dragonball Evolution a 5. This movie is a 3/10.

reply

bummer, i wonder if there was some kind of hidden incentive for willis, this movie should stand as an example of just exactly when a viewer gets separated from a story, due to unbelievability, or bad acting. this guy has 2 mobs and his ex-best friend after him, but he just scoots around town in the same powder blue vintage gto. i agree with the other post about the hardware store, when 50 finally gets that thing down for the struggling kid, the kid holds a lightbulb like its lost treasure. hey maybe its a grow-light, either way, hilarious.
the only winner here is the city of detroit. using very selective shots, and adding extras, makes it look habitable, one degree or two out of shot, and youd see the abandoned, burnt-out warzone it really is.
one side note, 50, please close your lips during dark scenes, your teeth are way too bright, and they distract from the eyes, which are supposed to be conveying emotion.

overall, ya had me for awhile, but it started looking bad pretty early, then it became more funny than anything. 3/10 is a good score.

reply

NOT filmed in Detroit; filmed in Grand Rapids, Michigan. So Detroit still loses...and I guess Grand Rapids from what you're saying.

reply

yes it was , piece of crap, the only thing that would have saved this movie would have been to kill off, 50 cents and ryan by bruce willis and the end,

reply

You nailed it with that one!

reply

This movie is soooooo bad. I didn't finish it even though I gave it two attempts before officially giving up. Terrible movie. What was Ryan and Bruce thinking?

reply

It wasn't filmed in Detroit. It was filmed in Grand Rapids, MI.

reply

Perhaps all the ultra-bashing here is from angry white men who hates 50 banks because he have a large diik and makes truckloads of money?

havent seen it yet but I get the impression it might be decent anyway

there you go, here is another avenue for 50, the porn industry, I think he would be great... no, really, the movie is very bad, it will be listed for sure on the "worst ever films of the decade" if such a top will be made.
I have nothing against 50, I am an angry white man who own most of his records, and he was relatively good in that area.

reply

Every minute coma I prayed that the next scene might possibly save this steaming pile of crap. I think couture had it right by killing himself. Go watch some grass grow for 90 minutes, a more meaningful experience than this.

reply

Lame, hopelessly lame flick: abrupt, incoherent, shi**y plot, bad acting. Nothing flows (or escalades) in this movie - things just fall on your lap. I think the creators tried to give it a Guy Richie flavor and all they got instead was the bad taste of failure. You'll taste it too if you'll watch this...movie or whatever it is.

This movie is not so bad. I have seen much worse.
Yes,the direction needs work, yes 50 cent is not a good actor (but in this movie he is not that bad). Yes,the script is not original. The older actors however do a good job. One main flaw is that Curtis Jackson a.k.a. 50 cent (who also produced this movie) has given himself the lead. And while he does hold up pretty nicely,I could not make out what he was saying half the time. That is something he really needs to work on. He would be great in a bigger supporting role. And at first I thought he was just that. Especially when Ryan Phillippe made his entrance. 50 cent is too serious for his own good. And some scenes required of him to be light hearted. And some scenes required him to show anger. Still there was a vibe to the movie that kept it interesting. Bruce Willis is having fun as a mob boss. However his role is simply a glorified cameo. The action scenes were quit good.If only there were more of them. This is a movie for a rainy Sunday or late in the night when nothing else is on.

reply

It was a decent film, but the cast was horrible. I don't think I saw a single emotion on 50 cent's face.

reply

[deleted]

Well, what do you know, 50 cent gets shot and survives lol. The story could of had potential but, unfortunately it was horrible. The best part was probably the GTO and Randy Couture shooting himself in the head.

The cast was promising but, I guess it go's to show that doesn't mean *beep*

reply

Hehe, my message was deleted. I was writing that while intoxicated, and I don't really remember what I wrote. However, this movie should be on Bottom 50 ^^

reply

Agree. I gave it 1/10. I watched for free, and I really regret watching it. I really thought that if Bruce Willis was in it, it would be decent. Note to myself: Never ever watch a movie starring 50 cent again.

reply

The good news is that I saw it for free and Bruce Willis was the best part of the movie. The bad news is that I'll never be able to get back that 90 minutes I spent watching it. I got worried during the opening credits when I saw that 50 cents produced the film; thus I guess is why he was the "star"? The 4.3 on the IMDB meter is exceedingly generous on this one folks.
