You're better than this, man. Wasnt the worst movie I ever saw but the script was horrid. Willis and Philippe carried it, making it semi-watchable. I dont mind 50 being in movies but they need to be kept to cameos or small roles, not LEAD roles.
Phillippe has a very interesting resume full of well done out of the mainstream films. I respect him for going that route rather than empty headed blockbusters that many have done. This certainly seems one off. So, why this film? Why now? Don't know. Currying favors, I imagine.
"I'd never ask you to trust me. It's the cry of a guilty soul."
Yes, Phillippe has an interesting resume, but he's a very horrible actor. even in an easy movie like MacGruber, his acting was disgusting and abysmal. I don't know how he gets those decent acting jobs, probably his looks and his agent, but he has no talent what so ever. As soon as he opens his mouth, you are taken out of the movie realm when you quickly realize that this guy sucks when in dialogue.
bagodonuts, too many donuts for you. I can only suggest with your perspective that you just avoid Ryan's films in the future and save yourself the anxiety and stress.
His straight man in MacGruber, btw, was pitch perfect.

We have a winner!
Phillippe has always been a horrible actor. Having him play a villain is laughable. Even Matthew McConaughey out-acted him in Lincoln Lawyer. MATHEW FREAKIN' MCCONAUGHEY!
What next? They're going to cast Paul Walker and Shia Labeouf as villains?
Don't try to cash in love, that check will always bounce.
Bagodonuts - It's definitely his looks and his body. I don't watch his movies because they're great, I watch them and fantasize about what I'd do to him in bed.
Bagodonuts, I agree with the second part of your statement and that's why I will always see every movie he does, the man is f==king HOT! But I don't agree about the other portion of your statement, "I don't watch his movies because they're great". He's done films that have been really good. Flags Of Our Fathers was one of my favorites and I thought he was great in that . Even if you go back to one of his early films, Igby Goes Down, that film had alot of well written characters(including Ryan's character). Also, I loved him in Crash, the scene where his character Tommy get's out of the police car to protect and diffuse the events with Terrence Howards character was a brilliant scene, very well acted, and that movie was really good. I just watched Setup this morning and liked it,I will always be a Ryan fan.
