A thought on Buckley's catharsis (spoilers)

OK, there is a theory about poltergeists that I believe I ran across somewhere which I think this film brings to light. What if all poltergeists really are is the frustration and anger pouring out of a person with some sort of unknown psychic ability? That someone in the house is actually causing the supposed hauntings? I think this is a valid idea and the film, for its flaws, showed that very well. Buckley had no "real" idea of his powers until he damn near brought down the theatre. He may have suspected, but all the hauntings he had been attributing to Silver was actually from himself. What if this is happening in reality to at least a percentage of those hauntings that cannot be explained?

Also, I did like the expose on how the fake was getting info on his audience. Very similar scene in Leap of Faith with Steve Martin. John Edwards is now on Tour and I wonder if he gets any info from ticket sales. For example, buy a ticket to one of his shows I am sure he would get your credit card info, address, full name. A team of researchers can find out a lot about you with that info. They would be able to find out about relatives who passed away, etc.
