Is this going to air on TV?

This show is being produced/funded using donations. The first 2 episodes are available to download for free (just as the makers intended).

Has this been picked up by a TV company?

I doubt it, as for all its efforts it is just too amaturish in its execution, and would be made to look even more so when surrounded by traditionally funded programming content.

Also, because of the way that this was set up and funded, I don't know that they would legally be able to sell the show to by aired by a traditional broadcaster anyway. They could sell the idea and story concept, but it would likely have to be remounted and reshot if they did so.

But truth is, despite the amount of downloads each episode has gotten, the show just hasn't created enough buzz to really be noticed at all by the traditional media outlets and broadcasters, or the net using public at large for that matter. At best it is viewed as just another web series, which are frankly a dime a dozen these days. At worst, a glorified fan project. And until an original content web series manages to grab widespread popular success outside its own particular niche, I don't see the disposable and dismissive way that these things are generally viewed overall as changing any time soon.

I'm not saying that it can't be done, mind you, but it will frankly take more imagination, more investment, both artistic and financial, and more talent than is on display here to be able to do so, and be able to take things to the mythical 'next level' that is so oft thrown around.

I give the makers of Pioneer One their props for what they have managed to create here, and I don't mean to demean them or that accomplishment in any way, but a revolution in dramatic web content it is most definitely not.

why should it?

if it runs long enough it could be bought by a station and played back like so many foreign productions that are bought by national broadcasters.. but if you can get this show from the internet (and they find support to keep making shows) why not just watch it online?
