....for contributing to their cause by buying a movie ticket to see TG2. Thus, I'm not gonna go see it.

That's a good point, this may well be Cruise's Battlefield Earth, as that movie was to Travolta.

In that case, no way am I gonna fvcking see it!

I'll tolerate Cruise in most movies, but not if it's his pet project to promote the Church.

I would be surprised if true.

Is this gonna be like the old TC threads on IMDb with insane people constantly blathering on about the freaks of Scientology???

Scientologists ARE freaks, and highly litigious ones at that.

A long time ago, I read an article on what a post-apocalyptic world would be like if it was run by Scientologists, and it was a FUCKING NIGHTMARE.

The Justice Department (the real Justice Department, post Billy Barr) should launch a prosecution of Scientology and its top dog David Miscavige under the RICO statute. So much of what they do is straight out of the organized crime playbook. It's long past time they were taken down and their leadership imprisoned for a whole litany of serious crimes. If you're going to arrest human traffickers for imprisoning people against their will and forcing them into all kinds of what's basically slave labor, it makes no sense to let Scientology get away with the same thing. Merely attaching the word 'church' to an organization's name doesn't make it a legit religion.

If you're not a scientologist yourself, you're being willfully ignorant. The so-called "Church" of Scientology combines scary controlling cult and giant corporate pyramid scheme in one neat package. Organized crime syndicate is in fact exactly what they are.

Donald Trump might think screaming "Bias!" and "Fake news!" is a good counterargument ... but it isn't. Calling someone insane has no bearing on the truth of their statements - it's merely an attempt to distract by making them the topic of conversation instead of the actual topic. You were never on the debate team I take it.
