Lana getting in Phil's car

Did anyone find it interesting that the driver put Phil in the car FIRST and then brought Lana to the other side and let her in? Phil could have let Lana go in first in the car or the driver, it's the gentlemanly thing to do, but no. Phil got in car first. Driver shut door. Then driver led Lana to the other side of the car. That scene showed that Phil had power. And I liked the line where he says later that he had the power just by her getting into his car. He said, she would have done ANYTHING he wanted when they got to his house because SHE got in the car with him so why would he want to kill her? He already had the power.

Interesting.

I'm not saying that just because she got in the car and went home with him that he has free reign on what happens or even that she has free reign. But he thought just her getting in the car gave him power. I wonder how he enticed her to come back to his place. I love leading-up scenes on stuff like this, but there were no leading-up scenes.

He also tried to control Linda, his lawyer. Didn't work.

I specifically reminded her - bedside table! On the Kangaroo!

Another point of Phil trying to have power and control is when Linda first comes to his house. He doesn't answer the door or meet her near the entrance. She has to go find him. No one tells her where to go. She has to find her way to Phil. And he doesn't even say hello. He starts talking about Lincoln. He knew she was there and that'd he didn't have to do a damn thing and that she'd come to him. Then he lead her through a dozen rooms while he talked her ear off. She had to follow him. She had to be quiet.

Power. Control.
