Question

In the Wikipedia page for Lana Clarkson, it says:
"On February 3, 2003, Clarkson was fatally shot in the mansion of music producer Phil Spector. In the early hours of that morning, she met Spector while working at the House of Blues. Both left the House of Blues later in Spector's limousine and drove to his mansion."

So...did he meet her for the first time a few hours before she died?? I thought they had some form of relationship for some time. In this case, and not knowing Clarkson's mental state, yes, if she was unstable, she could have shot herself. But if she met Spector that morning, I really doubt that she chose to go to his mansion to end her life... So he probably asked her to do "something" that she didn't want to, he felt angry, he put a gun in her mouth to scare her, and boom, that was it. No one can be sure if he actually wanted to kill her, but I believe that he wanted to scare her, and they fought, and one of them accidentally pulled the trigger.

So, if they first met that day, who can seriously believe that she went to his house and killed herself? It doesn't make sense.

I think the general theory of the defense was not so much that she intended to kill herself but that she was simply mentally unstable and "accidentally" suicided herself. Spector supposedly came in the room and she had the gun in her mouth (maybe she was just kidding, whatever) and said what the hell are you doing get that out and then in the process of taking the gun out of her mouth she accidentally pulled the trigger. The defense actually tested this by having people stick guns in their mouths and telling them to pull them out. It is an awkward movement, especially if done quickly in response to someone surprising you and a good number of the people actually set off the trigger while trying to take it out of their mouth.

I hope those guns didn't have a bullet in!

I recommend you watch the film, I imagine the prop 'guns' were similar to the ones used in the film.

Have you ever been to California? Met anyone in the industry? These people aren't like you and me. Scads of women AND men flock to anyone who has fame, in hopes of catching a chance to be rich and famous.

Maybe Ms. Clarkson knew Mr. Spector had a fascination with guns, and decided to play around? Maybe it was part of a role-playing session? Who knows WHAT happened? You weren't there, I wasn't there...no one was, except Spector and Clarkson and the latter is dead.

I don't think she "went to the house to kill herself." I think they were both buzzed on pills and booze, and something went horribly wrong.

reply

She didn't kill herself. Spector was convicted of murder and may be still in jail.
